Gift cards typically come in $10, $25, $50, and $100 denominations. One might wonder as to why we decided to add an extra $1 to ours then, and whether it holds any significance. Well, it does.

There are those for whom we purchase gifts because we have to, and then there are those we gift because we really want to, for whom we don't mind spending a little extra if it means picking out something worthwhile for them that we know would make them smile, that'll tell them that a lot of thought went into picking out that gift for them because they're special, because they're loved, because they're cared for, and because the very sight of seeing them happy, though impossible to measure in anything materialistic, is worth every penny that went into purchasing that gift for them; this is what that extra $1 signifies.
